In this view of the East
Wall you can see Broad Arrow Tower on the left and Constable Tower in the center.
The Broad Arrow Tower was used by the Wardrobe (department for royal supplies).
The tower's name may come from the broad arrow which was stamped on royal supplies.
Some prisoners would write on the walls of their rooms. There is a inscription in the
Broad Arrow Tower attributed to Giovanni Battista Castiglione, the Italian tutor of
Princess Elizabeth.
You can see the top of the White Tower in the background.
