Ama Dablam, whose name means Mother and her Necklace, is a beautiful mountain
located south of Everest and Lhotse in the Khumbu region.
There are many peaks in this region but Ama Dablam stands out by way of its classic beauty.
It is a steep pyramid of ice with vertical walls and sharp, exposed ridges.
It is often compared to the Matterhorn, but is 10,000 feet taller.
