Here is a photo of a snake charmer in Saranath.
There is a poisonous Cobra (called "Naya" in India) in the basket.
A Snake Charmer opens the basket and plays the flute to make the snake dance.
Cobras have no ears so they really can't hear the flute.
The cobra is actually swaying to the movement of the white
rod the snake charmer holds in front of it.  Jan/13/2001
