Barnclose and Hollybrooke in Gaitsgill.
Brenda and Neil Hayes, our English hosts, reside in the house where Chris grew up, called 'Barnclose' (c. 1703).
Most of the houses in the village are made from either quarried stone, river rock or a combination of
old clay and straw mortar. Barnclose is a fairly large house, white with black trim, that has
3 chimneys and 2 working fireplaces. It's a 2-story building with a garage and small adjacent cottage.
